Discover Goodwill Employee Takes Special Olympics Gold
Vince Egan works at a Colorado Springs-based, Discover Goodwill Attended Donation Center (ADC) where he valiantly champions the organization’s mission by helping donors transform their gently-used items into life-changing opportunities for at-risk individuals in our community. When he’s not at the ADC, however, Vince is a champion of a different sort—a Special Olympic Gold Medalist!
Accompanied by his family, Vince recently traveled from Colorado to Austria to compete in the Special Olympics World Winter Games, where he won gold in the giant slalom and took fourth place in the super giant slalom, even though he only started skiing three years ago. Last month, Vince sported his athletic talents a bit closer to home—competing in soccer at the Special Olympics Colorado Summer Games in Grand Junction.
Vince has been a Special Olympian since the age of eight, nearly 14 years ago. Desiring to support and inspire other Special Olympians, he now serves on the organization’s Colorado Board of Directors. In his spare time, when he’s not traveling the globe or providing excellent customer service to Discover Goodwill patrons, Vince works on his golf game, which is actually his favorite sport. Congratulations, Vince, on your Olympic-sized achievements!
