HIDDEN TREASURES. CHANGED LIVES.

TRANSITION SERVICES

Goodwill of Colorado provides transition services for students/transition-age youth that are integrated, community-oriented, and systematic, through a jointly planned approach involving community collaboration, connections, advocacy, and support.

Transition services are planned for young adults leaving high school, including post-secondary education opportunities, vocational assessments and targeted workforce training, community employment (which includes supported employment and volunteer placement), independent or supported living, and community participation.

Goodwill works with young adults through early outreach, collaboration and partnership with school districts to address the transition needs of students and their families. This collaboration and early planning ensures that transition-aged young adults are not “missed” as they move from one system to another.

Transition Services provided include:

  • Access to community based services
  • Post-secondary education opportunities
  • Guidance for young adults moving from an educational environment into community employment
  • Access to targeted vocational training or apprenticeships
  • Independent or supported living
  • Community involvement and participation
  • Employment and/or volunteer placement
  • Additional supportive services as needed
