This holiday season, let’s unite in the spirit of giving, and create a brighter future for our Colorado community while embracing the true meaning of the holidays. Together, we can make this season a time of joy and hope for all. Your generosity changes lives!
Here is just one of the ways you are helping us spread joy throughout Colorado!
Daryl, who goes by the nickname “Punk,” is a Colorado dairy farmer, a physically demanding job that takes a heavy toll on the body. Several years ago, Punk’s health began to suffer, and he had a heart attack. Punk is now on the list waiting for a heart transplant.
At a farmer’s market, Punk heard about AgrAbility, a collaboration between Goodwill of Colorado and Colorado State University. The program provides support, education and equipment for farmers or ranchers who have experienced an injury or disability. Punk met with Candy, AgrAbility’s program manager, and found a supportive ally who could help him keep his beloved cows.
AgrAbility got Punk a milking machine and fencing to help his farm’s productivity and safety, and his cows can now produce twice the milk in less time. He says, “So proud of what this program and Goodwill are doing for people and the future. We were contemplating getting rid of the cows and giving up on what we love. This changed my outlook on life. Goodwill kept me doing what I wanted to do.”
To help us spread joy, find your nearest Goodwill of Colorado store to make a donation of your gently used household items, shoes or clothing today. Thank you!
