THE LEAP PROGRAM BRINGS WARMTH TO COLORADO HOMES

Through a partnership with the State of Colorado Department of Human Services, Goodwill administers the Low-Income Energy Assistance Program, also known as LEAP, which provides home heating assistance to qualified households whose income does not exceed 60 percent of the Colorado State Median.

The LEAP program begins November 1 and runs through the end of April, however, applications are processed as long as funding is available. To qualify for LEAP, applicants must be responsible for paying heating costs to an energy provider, fuel dealer or, as part of their rent; and be permanent legal residents of the United States and Colorado, or have household members who are U.S. citizens. LEAP assistance is not intended to pay a household’s entire cost of home heating, so it is important that households continue to pay their heating bills.

LEAP is a federally funded program. Areas Goodwill serves include: Adams County, Arapahoe County, Archuleta County, Baca County, Bent County, Boulder County, Broomfield County, Chaffee County, Cheyenne County, Clear Creek County, Conejos County, Costilla County, Crowley County, Custer County, Delta County, Denver County, Douglas County, Eagle County, El Paso County, Elbert County, Fremont County, Garfield County, Grand County, Gunnison County, Hinsdale County, Huerfano County, Jackson County, Jefferson County, Kit Carson County, Lake County, La Plata County, Las Animas County, Larimer County, Lincoln County, Logan County, Mesa County, Moffat County, Montezuma County, Morgan County, Ouray County, Park County, Phillips County, Pitkin County, Prowers County, Rio Blanco County, Routt County, Saguache County, San Juan County, San Miguel County, Sedgwick County, Summit County, Teller County, Washington County, Weld County and Yuma County.
