Firefighters Show and Tell at Discover Goodwill’s Possibilities

Discover Goodwill’s program participants get the opportunity to partake in lots of fun activities full of “Possibilities.” On a daily basis, they learn important life and academic skills in the classroom, express their creativity through art, exercise their bodies and minds in the fitness and health centers, take care of their finances at the credit union and practice independence-building tasks in the apartment.

Recently, Possibilities participants got an extra special treat—a visit from Colorado Springs Fire Department Station #9. The friendly firefighters spoke with Possibilities participants about the 9-1-1 emergency system, and the importance of gathering and sharing critical information with 9-1-1 dispatchers—such as the address for sending emergency assistance.

But best of all, the Possibilities crew got the chance to see and touch a real firetruck.
