Kudos to Discover Goodwill’s Recruiters
Working tirelessly to find and hire the best candidates for an organization with more than 1,000 employees, 20 programs and a state-wide footprint, Discover Goodwill’s recruiting team is always busy!
Frequent hiring events are part of the gig for our HR crew. Traveling throughout Colorado Springs, Monument, Woodland Park and points beyond, our recruiters talk to hundreds of candidates about being part of the Discover Goodwill mission in our retail, contracts, programs or administrative areas. Often partnering with agencies and other nonprofits, HR team members process job applications, interview candidates and help complete the on-boarding process. Recently, Discover Goodwill’s Melinda Dollarhide oversaw a hiring event for Discover Goodwill’s Durango retail center slated to open next month. A whopping 82 candidates showed up—more than three times the 25 originally expected!
Shery Richer, director of retail operations, said, “Melinda did a tremendously thorough job to ensure that the Durango hiring event was advertised, spent countless hours screening applicants and created information packets about each candidate, all of which made a positive and professional impression on those attending the event.”
Cindy Cartwright recruits for Discover Goodwill’s Workforce Development, Community Programs, Contracts and Administrative Divisions. Together these ladies have posted more than 550 job opportunities, processed over 10,000 (yes, 10,000) applicants and assisted in hiring more than 2,550 individuals in 2017 alone! Thanks to our recruiters for demonstrating the Discover Goodwill mission!
