Discover Goodwill Celebrates National Volunteer Month
April is National Volunteer Month, and Discover Goodwill (DGW) thanks our many dedicated volunteers! Last year, more than 1,400 volunteers generously gave our community 41,950 hours of their time by volunteering in Discover Goodwill’s retail centers, and by supporting our community programs and special events.
Each day, our Volunteer Services team works with individuals and organizations around town to match volunteer opportunities throughout Discover Goodwill with the skillsets of our volunteers and partner organizations.
Meet Ann, one of Discover Goodwill’s most enthusiastic volunteers, who entertains our Voyages participants with music and her cheerful smile. Not only does Ann’s volunteer service help brighten our participants’ days, it helps her gain experience in her field of Human Resources and Learning/Development. Ann is interning with Georgia, a DGW Learning and Development team member, to gain real-world experience while she completes her HR Management degree at UCCS.
Volunteering is a huge “win-win,” as both a professional development opportunity and as a way to give back to our community. We thank our incredible volunteers each and every day for their giving spirit and positive impact!
