“You Complete the Picture”: Annual Dinner Honors Stakeholders

Discover Goodwill’s Annual Dinner, presented by ANB Bank, took place April 17 at The Broadmoor, attended by more than 700 guests. The event, emceed by Fox21 News’ Lauren McDonald, celebrated the accomplishments of four amazing Discover Goodwill program participants and team members: Mellowny Becton, a Janitorial Contract team member; Angel Green, Retail assistant manager; Ryan Bowlds, a Possibilities participant; and, for the first time, a LIFT/IT Training alumnus, Larry Langston. Bart and Cathy Holaday were honored as Discover Goodwill’s “2019 Guiding Light Award” recipients for their generosity and dedication to Discover Goodwill’s mission-driven programs and services. Discover Goodwill also celebrated the incredible support of community partners and business honorees: GE Johnson Construction Company, Lexus of Colorado Springs, The Salvation Army and Colorado Springs Utilities.

Themed “You Complete the Picture,” the Annual Dinner honored the contributions of every individual who supports the Discover Goodwill mission of helping individuals achieve greater independence: shoppers, donors, board members, volunteers, employees and program participants. Each plays an important part in changing lives throughout the communities of Southern and Western Colorado that Discover Goodwill serves. Last year, the organization served more than 76,000 individuals—including 5,680 who received job training and placement support.
