Meet the Team: Marie Hayes, LIFT IT Training Instructor

Marie Hayes is the LIFT IT Training Instructor for the Denver campus. LIFT IT Training provides free training for four CompTIA certifications: A+, Network+, Security+ and Cyber Security Analyst (CySA+*). As the LIFT IT Training Instructor, Marie facilitates and reinforces student’s learning of content required to pass CompTIA certification exams. Marie currently holds the CompTIA Secure Infrastructure Specialist certification meaning she has earned the A+, Network+ and Security+ certifications.

Prior to joining Goodwill Marie was a technology teacher at a private PK-8 school for seven years. During her time as a technology teacher, Marie also helped troubleshoot IT issues for her peers. Marie then worked as an IT Technician for Boulder Valley School District for four years where she provided on-site tech support to six schools. Marie joined the Goodwill team to blend her previous experiences and support adult learners.

Marie’s favorite part of her job is seeing the excitement and joy on students’ faces when they pass a certification exam. Many of these students had studied for the certification exams on their own but were not successful. It is meaningful to see Goodwill’s blend of online and in-person making a difference for students. Marie looks forward to seeing the IT Training program grow in Denver.
