Give a Toast to the Discover Goodwill Retail Support Center’s Recycled Glass Program!

In collaboration with Colorado Industrial Recycling, Discover Goodwill’s Retail Support Center (RSC) recently moved its first load of glass to Momentum Recycling in Denver. The benefits of glass recycling are huge: the RSC can now divert approximately 10 tons of glass waste per month from the landfill to Momentum’s Denver plant — equating to 240,000 pounds per year — which is an annual savings in trash expenses of $5,000. The proceeds from glass recycling tend to be low, so any revenue earned will be used to cover the hauling and equipment costs. Fun fact: some of the glass the RSC recycles will be manufactured into Coors beer bottles.
