Anthony Gets a Second Chance from Discover Goodwill

Thirty-two-year-old Anthony has a smile that can light up a room but also outshines a lifetime of suffering. Three years ago, the chronically-unemployed and frequently-incarcerated young man was struck with the prospect of being a career criminal … with only a jail cell to call home.

During his childhood, Anthony faced an emotionally daunting series of events, such as learning about his adoption and, later, dealing with his parents’ divorce. His life spiraled out of control with drug addiction, criminal activity and a potential lifetime jail sentence. Thankfully, after his early parole, Anthony got an entry-level position with Discover Goodwill, was promoted multiple times and now enjoys a rewarding career in retail management.
