Goodwill Helps Colorado Visiting Nurse Association Scrub Up to Combat COVID-19

Colorado Springs, Colo., April 1, 2020 —In response to the ever-evolving COVID-19 pandemic, Goodwill of Colorado has been proactively seeking opportunities to assist through strategic community partnerships—including recent collaboration with the Colorado Visiting Nurse Association (CVNA) to provide clinical uniforms outfitting frontline nurses helping affected individuals in their homes. Goodwill of Colorado quickly rallied its support by gathering donated scrubs in their more than 40 statewide stores and professionally cleaning them at their Fresh Start industrial laundry facility in preparation for final delivery to the CVNA.

Goodwill’s 400-plus pounds “care package,” enough to outfit nearly 450 nurses, was delivered to the CVNA office in Arvada, Colorado on Tuesday, March 31. “The CVNA is very grateful to Goodwill for their outpouring of compassion and generosity to ensure our nurses are safely and fully equipped to care for their clients,” said Colorado CVNA Marketing Liaison Beth Whitney.

“We are very excited to partner with the CVNA to provide much-needed care to at-risk individuals affected by this growing public health crisis,” said Goodwill of Colorado President & CEO Karla Grazier. “Goodwill’s and CVNA’s missions closely align, and while our retail stores and some programs have been temporarily suspended for the safety of our valued customers, clients and staff, we will continue to spread Goodwill throughout the state through strategic partnerships and community outreach initiatives like this one.”
